Bogotá is the capital of Colombia and has about 7.2 million inhabitants. Worth seeing are historical buildings in the center around the district Candeleria, the neoclassical Columbus Theater „Teatro Colón“, the church San Francisco from the 17th century or the gold museum „Museo del Oro“ with objects from pre-Columbian times. You should also visit the Museo Botero with works of the fantastic painter and Colombian sculptor FERNANDO BOTERO. There are numerous interesting sculptures made in his typical style all around the city and actually around the whole country.
