TURKEY: Streetart Istanbul – Azapkapı – Galata Mahkemesi 2 – Vecihi Hürkuş – REALWEAK

Tribute to pilot VECIHI HÜRKUŞ

This artwork was made in tribute for VECIHI HÜRKUŞ, who was a Turkish fighter pilot, aeronautical engineer and aviation pioneer. He lived from 6th January in 1896 to 16th July in 1969 and built Turkey’s first aircraft, which was the Vecihi K-VI, and he founded the nation’s first civilian flight school.

The mural was created by REALWEAK with the help of SERVERA. They are independent artists with their own style, and at the same time they are a couple and combine their creativity in urban art. Throughout the city you can find a lot of great wall paintings made by each of them or collaboration artworks created together. Especially the CELEBRITIES SERIES is a collection of wounderful portrayals of important persons throughout history.
