NORTH MACEDONIA: Streetart Skopje – Centar – Boulevard Saint Clement of Ohrid 27 – Teatar Komedija – Culture & Urban Art Gallery

The comedy theatre TEATAR KOMEDIJA as a national institution was established in November 2011, and its official opening was marked by the premiere of the play „Ah, My Love“, directed by Kole Angelovski, on World Theatre Day at March 27th in 2012. From its founding until 2014, when it moved into the building of the former Center Theatre, it used the stage of the Skopje Drama Theatre. Fantastic plays and creative projects are constantly being performed in this culture space. The building complex also serves as an urban art gallery and features countless beautiful murals on its facades. Additionally there are ateliers and studios around the permisses, and also a bar and a cocktail lounge to have a relaxed break.

The TEATAR KOMEDIJA is a genre-specific theater that nurtures all sub-genres of comedy and its repertoire includes premieres by Macedonian authors, comedies from the classics of world literature, and contemporary comedies from world dramaturgy. Although it is the youngest national theater institution in Macedonia, the Comedy Theater very quickly managed to establish itself as a serious and successful theater institution, which stands out from the rest in terms of the number of premieres and performances, the number of guest appearances and participations in festivals in the country and abroad, as well as the number of awards won at national and international festivals.  –  Teatar Komedija
