In 1956, a perfect American-style blockbuster based on the novel by Tolstoi with Audrey Hepburn and Henry Fonda, but produced by Dino De Laurentiis and shot in Piedmont with a wealth of extras and reconstructions and with Mario Soldati to direct the mass scenes. Valentino Castle becomes the Prussian castle of Tilsit, where the historic meeting between Tsar Alexander I and Napoleon takes place. – TORINO CITTÁ DEL CINEMA 2020
