Here in the courtyard was the restaurant “Zur Liederhalle”. Rosa Luxemburg spoke on September 26, 1913. She campaigned for the preservation of the peace: “If we are expected to use the weapons of murder against our French and other brothers, then we shout: We will not do that!” She was therefore sentenced to one year in prison in Frankfurt in 1914 for “inciting disobedience to the authorities”. Rosa Luxemburg was murdered in Berlin on January 15, 1919.
