The man with the apple head
Since the beginning of December, the man with the apple head has been installed on the ramblas-garden, on the even side, near the new access to the Jean-Jaurès metro. The work weighs 100 kg, is 2.5 meters high and 55 cm wide. It was the first sculpture by JAMES COLOMINA made of aluminum and his first public commission. The former dental technician creates red resin figures, which he disseminates here and there, first on the roof of his house, then in the public space, in Toulouse, in Paris, and then throughout the world. Among his favourite subjects: ecology, the pressure of consumer society, or the oppression of adults on children. I am happy that it is installed in my city and others should follow! – Julien Canadas
You can find more of the beautiful and characteristic bright red statue artworks of JAMES COLOMINA at other places in the city. There is “The child with the dunce cap” sitting in a bridge pillar at Pont-Neuf and the hooded statue with the heart at Rond Point Boulingrin.
