„Marianne Still Life“ – Mural Series (5)
As part of the Côte d’Azur Habitat Centennial in 2024, a series of six monumental murals honoring the iconic revolution figure of Marianne was organized by the WHOLE STREET association. Here we have the mural by BRIAN CADDY, check out as well the other murals via the Mariannes main page.
“On the left, we have the red carnation, symbolizing liberty, the yellow rose equality, and the lily representing fraternity. We can see the apple and the fig on the other side of the table, which are signs of abundance and fertility. I also added a Phrygian cap, which links to Marianne. In disadvantaged neighborhoods, this kind of action brings joy and color! I received a lot of feedback from residents and children who passed by while I was painting. I’m happy to have been able to participate in this project.” – BRIAN CADDY
