FRANCE: Streetart Map Nice – Urban Art Archive and Graffiti Tracker

The French city of Nice has around 353,000 inhabitants and is located on the part of the Mediterranean coast known as the Côte d’Azur. To the north are the high mountains with ski resorts in the Alpes-Maritimes department, but Nice enjoys sunny weather by the sea. The old town with its historic buildings was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2021. There are countless works of urban art, but compared to other cities, it is kept rather conservative around here. However, the urban scene is constantly fighting its way through, discovering new paths and bringing color to the walls. We collected numerous works of art, and a big thank you and huge respect goes to the local artist OTOM for his love for urban art and his commitment to the cultural life of Nice. He has shown us a lot of places that you would otherwise not find. Also big ups to the fantastic association WHOLE STREET, that he founded and which brings creativity and color to the city. How does the map work? All the buttons on the map are links to a photo gallery of the spot, sometimes with only one photo, sometimes with heaps of photos or even a full article. The different symbols explain various categories of the streetart and graffiti artworks. In the navigation of the map on the left you can find the several markers sorted by the categories and it´s possible to hide or fade these layers.
