This mural had a very short life on the wall; taking into account how long a graffiti can last untouched in Angol; usually more than a decade, however, nor in this case.
This mural was made at the end of 2020 and did not reach December 2021. What is the reason for such a short life? One possibility is that its political content has not been liked, or simply its aesthetics have not been to the taste of some other neighbor.
From the left, the mural begins with a plant where a pair of hummingbirds feeds on the nectar of the orchids. The following painting shows a woman with her son, and the two are chained, denouncing a sentence that the macho society imposes on women.
Next there is a farm worker, his face and hands tanned by the sun, harvesting the produce of the field and working all day. Then we see a woman harvesting fruit for export, in a field near a wind project.
Finally, we have the protests and generalized discontent, shown in the last image that displays the students who jumped the subway turnstiles to avoid paying the ticket in protest of the ticket price increases, as occurred in the Social Outbreak of Santiago de Chile on October 18th in 2019. There isn’t any sign of the author’s name or its crew.
