Here is the large stained glass window by MARCELLE FERRON at the Champs-de-Mars Metro Station made in 1968. Perhaps the most famous work of art in the entire Montreal Metro network. MARCELLE FERRON is one of the greatest artists in the history of Quebec. Signatory of the Refus global manifesto in 1948, she was able to make her art accessible by integrating it into public buildings and achieving the feat of making them essential markers of public space. A leading figure in contemporary art in Quebec, she had an international career during which she promoted Quebec creativity around the world. She was made Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2000. MARCELLE FERRON died in 2001. – Patrice Loranger
