Lhasa de Sela
Lhasa de Sela was a talented singer-songwriter of Mexican-American origin who settled in Quebec. A multidisciplinary artist, she designed her album covers, composed her music, wrote her lyrics and sang in English, French and Spanish. She died in 2010 of devastating breast cancer at the age of just 37.
Lhasa de Sela was sometimes described as the most Montreal singer born outside Montreal, she had won the hearts of Montrealers and all Quebecers with her depth, her sweetness and her melancholy full of hope. An artist that I heard in concert, that I often listen and who will always remain in my heart. RIP dear Lhasa. – Patrice Loranger
