The former Trebević Olympic bobsleigh slope was an artificial ice track on Mount Trebević, where the European Bobsleigh Championships were held in 1983 and the competitions for the 1984 Winter Olympics. The mountain with the track is located on the southern outskirts of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo and can be reached from the top station of the Trebević cable car in just a few minutes on foot. Not far from the finish area you can find the ruins of the old Bistrik Kula observatory, which are also worth a visit. The track was constructed in 1981 and got used for World Cup races until the start of the Bosnian war in 1991. During the war parts of the slope were badly damaged and restoration would have been too expensive, so the sports facility has lain fallow ever since and is no longer used by athletes, but all the more by spray can artists. The entire track is painted with graffiti and characters from the summit to the valley! A fantastic and picturesque lost place in the middle of the mountain landscape.
