Tribute to Milena Mrazović

Milena Mrazović (1863-1927) was the first woman journalist, editor, and publisher in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and owner of the daily newspaper Bosnische Post. She was also engaged as an author, ethnographer, and anthropologist. Along with her rich literary and journalistic work, she is also remembered as one of the few female composers in BiH.

The picture in this mural by artists NATASA KONJEVIC aka KONJO, depicting Milena Mrazovic, is also published in the book „Women of BiH, illustrated biographies of women in Bosnia and Herzegovina“. Authors of the book: Masha Durkalić, Hatidža Gušić and Amila Hrustić Batovanja.

The mural is financed by Sweden, within the,,Women in Elections in BiH“ project, implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was unveiled by the Foreign Minister of Sweden, Ann Linde, on 4th October 2021, during the Swedish Chairpersonship of the OSCE. It is located on the west walls of the Elektrotehnička škola za Energetiku, the Electrical Engineering School for Energy.
