National Historical Museum
The National Historical Museum in the Albanian capital Tirana is the country’s largest museum. It opened its doors on October 28th in 1981. Decadese before it required the demolition of the previous town’s town hall, which was built in 1930. On the front above the entrance you can admire a wonderful mosaic artwork created by artists VILSON KILICA, MET DELIU, AGIM NEBIU, JOSIF DROBRONIKU and ALEKSANDÉR FILIPI. The dimensions are 37 x 11 meters and it is is composed of 13 figurines approximately 10 meters high. The whole artwork is spread over a 400 m2 area. The title is “Shqipëria”, which means “Albania” in the local language.
