POLAND: Streetart Toru? - Urban art at the Wis?a river

Toru? is located in the Polish voivodeship Kujawsko-Pomorskie and has about 200,000 inhabitants. The old town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, worth seeing are also the seat of the Voivodeship Parliament, the University of Toru?, the Roman Catholic Bishopric and overall the buildings in the city held in North German Brick Gothic. Julian Fa?at – The painter JULIAN FA?AT is one of the most outstanding Polish watercolor painters, representative of realism and impressionist landscapes; in the years 1895–1909 he was rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

The mural educational path

The mural educational path – Part (1): The first artwork is located at the building at Szare Szeregów 2. We move back about 700 thousand years – to the times when man began to use fire.

The mural educational path – Part (2): The mural shows how much our life has changed thanks to electrification. At Witosa 2, welcome to Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla and the related beginnings of electric lighting. In the second half of the 19th century, Edison invented the light bulb, and in the early 20th century Tesla invented the electric motor, radio, bicycle dynamo, and 300 other inventions.

The mural educational path – Part (3): Non-renewable resources, coal and oil, are the main culprits behind environmental pollution.

The mural educational path – Part (4): The next mural is at Witosa 5. Hope for a developing branch of renewable energy, obtaining energy from wind, sun and water, we can make biogas from industrial and everyday waste, and biomass from agricultural waste.
