Tribute to Davorin Popović

Davorin Popović lived from 23rd September 1946 till 18th June 2001 and is considered one of the most important and greatest rock singer and songwriter of the region. Born in Sarajevo and well known throughout the former Yugoslavia, he was the lead singer and frontman of the progressive and pop rock band Indexi with who he founded the specific music style known as „Sarajevo Pop Rock School“, which later influenced other bands and singers in Sarajevo and the surrounding countries. During his career, he earned nicknames including „Pimpek“, „Davor“, „Dačo“ or simply „Pjevač“, which means literally „The Singer“, due to his unique voice.

Tribute to basketball legend Mirza “Kinđe” Delibašić

Mirza Delibašić aka “Kinđe” was born on 9th January 1954 in Tuzla and died on 8th December 2001 in Sarajevo with an age of only 47. He was one of Europe’s greatest basketball players of all times and is considered a sports legend in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He led KK Bosna Sarajevo to victory in the European Champions Cup in 1979 and went on to enjoy great success with Real Madrid. With the Yugoslav national team, he won, among other achievements, the 1980 Olympic gold medal as well as World and European championship titles.

His exceptional basketball IQ, elegance, and accuracy made him one of the best players of his generation. After suffering a stroke in 1983, he was forced to end his career prematurely. To this day, “Kinđe” is revered as a symbol of sportsmanship, talent, and basketball in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
