The Pink Houdini in Sarajevo is far more than just an ordinary bar, it’s also called the „Museum of Open Mind“. Located in the basement, this jazz and blues club is known for its extraordinary interior and also the outside facade. Amid musical instruments, art objects, neon lights, and countless posters, an atmosphere emerges that is at once creative, nostalgic, and provocative. Live concerts and jam sessions take place here regularly.
At the same time, Pink Houdini divides opinion. Many of the posters and messages on display address political issues and, in some cases, level sharp criticism at international actors. This makes a visit not just a culinary experience, but also a cultural and political one. While some guests appreciate precisely this authenticity and unconventional character, others find the atmosphere controversial or off-putting.
We have been there several times and can really recommend it. They offer different kinds of brews, also several local brands, and it is just an interesting space to see with all those numerous music instruments hanging from the ceiling and just strange stuff everywhere, which gives the place a special vibe. Also the owner is a really nice guy and likes to tell you stories about the different pieces around the bar. Because each piece has an own and mostly funny story.
