Katajanokka is the harbor district of Helsinki and is located on an island tongue in front of the city. Interesting are the Art Nouveau buildings, the many fish restaurants and the overall harbor atmosphere with the many ships and icebreakers. Also worth a visit is the brick-built Uspenski Cathedral with its golden domes, the 19th century warehouses, some of which have been converted into galleries and art spaces, and above all the Wanha Satama exhibition center, which regularly hosts markets and events. The SkyWheel Helsinki Ferris wheel is also located here, offering a far-reaching panoramic view of the harbor and the city, as well as the sea and the ocean. Check out as well the pages for the Helsinki districts of Hanasaari, Kallio, Panavouri and Sompasaari.
