On May 13th in 2023 there was the great KAJFESTIVAL at the Drömmarns Quay in the Gothenburg district Gullbergsvass organized by VINDARNAS ÄNDE. A full day of live music, DJs and also a colorful Graffiti Jam which was supported by the local graffiti plattform GBGGRAFF. Several walls, vehicles and surfaces were open for painting and the theme for the day was: “Do dreams come true?”.
Sprayers and painters could contact GBGGRAFF via social media. They took care of the organization of the spray session and want to support the quay culture in general. The day served also as a kick off for the artwork “Drömmarnas Monument” which asks the question: “Do dreams have a place in Gothenburg?” GBGGRAFF has previously mentioned Drömmarnas Kaj and its important meaning for people’s free expression and place in a post on their website.

Drömmarnas Monument – Referring Artworks
Those wooden artworks are part of the self-organized project Drömmarnas Monument by SEBASTIAN RUDOLPH JENSEN and STEFAN KARLSSON and with friends. Drömmarnas Monument focuses on the value and place of art in Gothenburg amid rent increases, new high-rise buildings, fallen artistic activities and a cut cultural budget. The monument is activated and developed during the summer by weekly inviting artists and organizations from various artistic fields to work on site and in the studio. The art work is an independent part of Gothenburg Art Gallery’s summer exhibition “I imagine a home” for 100 years of its existence.
