Today we introduce you to a fantastic creative space in Busan, South Korea that functions as a spray can store, but also as art bar, graffiti gallery, vintage figurine museum and music space. Seoul – Gangnam Rabbit Cave – Apgujeong Graffiti Tunnel – Legal Walls and Urban Art Hot Spot

On the southern bank of the Han River in the Gangnam neighborhood of Seoul, there is a very interesting and colorful pedestrian underpass called Apgujeong Graffiti Tunnel, which leads from the major streets down to the promenade along the riverside path. This walkway passage is free for graffiti and offers a legal spray space. As a result fantastic artworks are regularly sprayed here and new creations can always be found. Smaller and larger jams take place from time to time and the spot gets used for photo sessions. This Hall of Fame is also known as the “Rabbit Cave”.

Busan – Monolvgar Indoor Skate Park – Graffiti Hall of Fame

Located in the Busan district Sasang-gu is Korea’s largest skateboarding space. The huge indoor skate hall MONOLVGAR offers professional training for local skaters, product sales and consultation by the skateboard brand and association MONOPATIN, who also founded the skate park and organizes regular skate contests and cool events. The outside facades of this place are also very interesting, because they are covered with numerous graffiti and characters. You can spray here legally, it is one of the few graffiti walls in the city and a Hall of Fame.

Seoul – Sinchon Graffiti Tunnel – The Rabbit Hole – Legal Walls and Urban Art Hot Spot

The Sinchon Graffiti Tunnel is located in the Seodaemun-gu district of Seoul and is a 65-meter-long and 4.5-meter-high pedestrian tunnel between Ewha Womans University and Yonsei University. This legal spray site is also known as the “Sinchon Rabbit Hole”, which describes the passageway quite well. The graffiti hot spot is adorned with graffiti from top to bottom and new ones are constantly being added on top of the old ones. In 2016 the tunnel also became really famous when it was used as a filming location for a scene in the K-drama “Goblin – The Lonely and Great God”.

Seoul – GoTo Mall – Underground Urban Art – 24 Hours Project – Raemian One Bailey Streetart Gallery

The underground shopping center at Gangnam Terminal in Seoul is also known as “Goto Mall” and is directly connected to the subway lines. There are more than 600 shops, restaurants, and boutiques located beneath the surface. Along an around 500-meter-long walkway passage, the magnificent “24 Hours Project” was created at the RAEMIAN ONE BAILEY STREETART GALLERY, in which 24 renowned Korean urban artists each created a work that deals with a specific hour of the day. Pedestrians can experience Seoul’s vibrant rhythm through creative and also amusing artworks.

Haeundae Sand Festival – ABRAM WATERMAN & CHRIS GUINTO – 20th Anniversary Sculptors Meeting

The HAEUNDAE SAND FESTIVAL took place in 2025 from May 16th till 19th and was the 20th edition of this great event in the eastern coast suburb of Busan. Countless artists from all over the world transformed the beach into an art gallery with huge sculptures and several meter-high frescos. The festival was accompanied by a colorful supporting program of music, art and culture, and even after the event you could admire the sand artworks until June 8th. In two interviews we talked to the sand sculptors ABRAM WATERMAN from Canada and CHRIS GUINTO, part of the artist duo BROKEN GLASS from the USA, while they were creating their works.

Seoul – Hongdae – Graffiti & Streetart around Hongik University

The Hongik University in Seoul is a renowned private academy, particularly known for its popular programs in art, design, and architecture. Founded in 1946, the main campus is located in the lively Hongdae district, a cultural center of the metropolis with numerous galleries, cafés, and live music venues. The Red Road in particular is a popular route where you can find numerous urban artworks. Also a lot of artists are based throughout the surrounding neighbourhood, as well there are ateliers and creative spaces. And the walls are accordingly decorated with colorful graffiti and streetart of course!

Busan – Gallery Square – Creative Space & Art Education – BYEONG YONG JEONG

The DESIGN SQUARE art academy is located in the Beon-gil neighborhood in the Seo-gu district of Busan and classes are held in the building on the fourth floor, but there is also a very interesting creative space in the basement, the GALLERY SQUARE, where students can paint freely and exhibitions are held regularly. We talked to the artist and art teacher BYEONG YONG JEONG about the concept of this great place and took a look at the numerous fantastic artworks, which were made by students, workshop participants or just passing by creatives.

Daegu – VØID GALLERY – Exhibition Vol. 4 – Black Comics – HONG JONGGI

The great drawing artist and illustrator HONG JONGGI presents from 12nd May till 30th July 2025 a special collection of his artworks in the solo exhibition „Black Comics“ at the VØID GALLERY in Daegu. This is the 4th creative venue in this art space. If you are around the city during that time, be sure not to miss it. There are several pieces on the walls from series made during the previous years like „The Villains“ or „Motorcycle Diaries“ and also animated drawing videos are shown on projection screens.

Jeonju has about 660,000 inhabitants, is the center of Jeollabuk-do province and is located about 230 km south of the national capital Seoul. The city is quite famous and popular because of its large and well-preserved Hanok Village in historical architectural style, but especially the more hidden Jaman Mural Village is even more worth seeing for fans of urban art. Gwangju – Juan Museum of Art – Exhibition „Toon Topia“ – GOLD, JBRAWING, SEONEUL & SOONBOMB

From March 3rd to June 2nd 2025, a fantastic exhibition was held at the JUAN MUSEUM OF ART in the Dong-gu district of Gwangju, featuring drawn animation from various genres and the four local artists GOLD, JBRAWING, SEONEUL and SOONBOMB showed a selection of their works. The exhibition space is located in the basement of a café, with a commercial food court upstairs and a creative comic world downstairs.  It’s a small creative art space, but with continously interesting presentations, especially for mangas, comics, abstracts and graffiti.

Busan – MOTOMALL – Motorbike Graffiti – MAD DUCK

This wall was created by the graffiti artist MAD DUCK in 2024 as a commissioned work for the neighboring motorcycle store MOTOMALL. The long wall on the north side of the building and along a path to the parking lot in the backyard shows a colorful mix of motorcycle motifs and cool graffiti.

Gwangju – CUMA – Chosun University Museum of Art – Exhibition „Expanding the Gaze – The Reimagined Campus“

The Chosun University Museum of Art, or CUMA for short, is part of Chosun University in the city of Gwangju and exhibitions of fantastic works by current art students and graduates are regularly presented here, including works through all disciplines, from paintings and installations to sculptures, textiles, films and animations. It serves as a cultural space and window to the public, giving interested visitors an insight into the work at the art academy and the artistic identity of the students. From May 14th to 30th in 2025, the best works of the current semester were shown as part of the exhibition „Expanding the Gaze – The Reimagined Campus“.

Sculpture City Seoul – Yeolrin Songhyeon Square – Sculpture Park Exhibition

SCULPTURE CITY SEOUL is a project being promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government since 2024 to change the entire city of Seoul into a world-class sculpture city by transforming the open spaces into a roofless art museum. It aims to enable citizens to enjoy high-quality sculpture in their daily lives, and artists to present experimental exhibitions in various spaces beyond the boundaries of museums. Jeonju – Historic Hanok Village – Pungnam & Gyo District – Cultural Heritage

Jeonju Hanok Village is the largest Hanok Village in Korea, with about 700 Hanok buildings around Pungnam-dong. „Hanok“ is a traditional Korean house. The cultural site is the only Hanok complex in a downtown area in the whole country. The development history started in 1910, holding important cultural heritage including Gyeonggijeon shrine, Omokdae, and the Confucian School Hanggyo. About 20 other cultural facilities are dispersed in every corner of the Hanok Village. It’s a famous tourist site in Korea where all kinds of traditional Korean culture are showcased, including food, paper, songs, costumes and oriental medicine.
