Art and culture can play an important role in drawing attention to the social disadvantages faced by women and bringing previously overlooked perspectives into the public eye. This central message was the focus of an event in Podgorica, where the sculpture installation „Moji Ljudi“, or in English “My People”, by artist DUBRAVKA DUDA DULETIĆ was presented. The heart-shaped artworks are located in two public spaces in the Montenegrin capital: Argentina Square and above the so-called “Skaline,” a flight of stairs leading up to a medieval fortress.
„Dedicated to the women of Montenegro who, through their pioneering endeavors in education, the struggle for freedom, politics, the arts, culture, sports, and all other fields, pushed boundaries and became fearless leaders of emancipation across different regions of the country and throughout various historical periods. We remember them and celebrate them, for they fought for centuries and succeeded to secure the rights we enjoy today.
