MONACO: Streetart Monaco - Urban Art around the Principality on the Côte d'Azur

Monaco is a tiny, independent city-state on the French Mediterranean coast with an area of 203 hectares and approximately 38,000 inhabitants. Luxury reigns in the principality, which is a place for the rich, with its pompous casinos, yacht marinas, and the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1, which takes place annually on the streets. The largest district, Monte Carlo, is home to an elegant Belle Époque casino and the Salle Garnier opera house, and shows featuring luxury sports cars are regularly held in the squares. There is no graffiti here, and very little streetart, but there are open-air photo exhibitions and countless statues, which will be covered in a separate article. Here we have colorful decorations and works of art on the walls, but there are also stickers, mainly from the countless tourist visitors.

These photographs are the result of many trips to the Principality, capturing its growth from conception to completion as Mareterra took shape on the Mediterranean coastline.
