LEBANON: Streetart Harissa – Urban Art at the Lady of Lebanon

Harissa is a small pilgrimage and scenic town in Lebanon, located about 27 kilometers north of Beirut, overlooking the Bay of Jounieh. The town lies at an elevation of about 600 meters on the slopes of the Lebanon Mountains and is administratively part of the Mount Lebanon Governorate. The population of the town itself is relatively small, estimated at a few thousand people; Harissa is primarily known as a religious and tourist center, particularly famous for the statue of “Notre Dame du Liban”, or in English „Our Lady of Lebanon“, which has been an important Christian pilgrimage site in the Middle East since the early 20th century. From there, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Mediterranean coast and the city of Jounieh. And in this whole context, you can also find several urban artworks around the streets. The following photos were taken by world traveller and streetart lover MAZZANTI.
