The Almaty Central Mosque / Aлматының Oрталық Mешіті is located at around three streets north of the central market at 16 Pushkin Street / Пушкин көшесі 16. This beautiful modern mosque is famous for its golden domes, intricate carvings, brilliant ceramics, and striking tapestries. Main building is open to non-Muslims for tourism purposes, but this is an active house of worship so please be respectful of the local customs as indicated by the signage at the entrance.   –  Mike Hennessey
