Goal (14): Life Below Water – The Rubbish Whale – Pollution Fairytale
Toward 2030. What Are You Doing? – An event promoted by the City of Turin which focused on the 17 sustainable development goals identified by the United Nations, leaves a concrete mark on the territory. MRFIJODOR in this mural plays Goal 14: Life Below Water. The artist was born in Imperia, a city overlooking the Ligurian Sea, a well-known sanctuary for Mediterranean cetaceans, as well as the home of Giulio Natta, one of the inventors of plastic. One of the largest and most vulnerable aquatic mammals emerges on the wall: the whale, a symbol of the fragility of the marine ecosystem, spokesperson for the excessive exploitation of men. The work is located in Porta Palazzo where they say: “If Turin had the sea, the port would be right here”. The artwork was created in 2018. – MAUA MUSEUM
