The hallway of the subway station Heinrich Heine shows regularly great artworks which promote the SAGE HOSPITAL and its association, who organize festivals and events to support the hospital. The SAGE HOSPITAL is a children’s hospital in Senegal, two hours drive south of Dakar.
Initiated by Cynthia Clottey and Katharina von Ballestrem, this hospital has been rebuilt, expanded and provided with the means for its daily operation by the Sage Hospital e.V. association since 2003. This has been made possible on the one hand by the intensive support of private donors.
Furthermore, the SAGE ASSOCIATION in Berlin has taken over the sponsorship of the hospital and regularly organizes events, the proceeds of which benefit the association. All those involved in the project work on a voluntary basis without financial compensation. Every donation helps and goes directly to the hospital and its currently about 700 monthly patients.
