Uspallata is a small town in the southern Andean province at an altitude of 2.039 meters and close to the border with Chile. The high oasis with around 3.400 inhabitants is picturesquely situated on the main route leading from Mendoza to Santiago in a long valley between the foothills and the main cordillera. In addition to the beautiful landscape, you can also find great urban art here, especially murals by the local art collective ARTISTAS PLASTICAS USPALLATA, or APU for short. A number of works can be found in and around the Centro Cultural, as well as the ESPACIO INFINITO, a project by the artist group for creative events in the culture center or in urban space around. Here are some images photographed by world traveler CHRIS AMES.
