Tribute to revolutionary Gjorche Petrov Nikolov
Not only is one of the districts in Skopje named after Gjorche Petrov Nikolov, but also a boulevard in the area, which features a roundabout with an equestrian statue of Gjorche Petrov. He was born on 2nd April in 1865, and died on 28th June in 1921. Petrov was a Macedonian teacher, revolutionary, and one of the leaders of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, or IMRO for short. Below the memorandum sculpture and around the large stone base are additional frescoes depicting scenes from his life.
