Tribute to Pavel Šhatev – Павел Поцев Шатев
Pavel Potsev Shatev was an anarchist, socialist, revolutionary, lawyer, member of the left wing of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, and member of the anarchist group „Boatmen of Thessaloniki”. He is also known for his book “Policisko Dosie.” He was born on July 15th in 1882 in Kratovo, North Macedonia, and died on January 30th in 1951 in Bitola, North Macedonia. The statue shows him sitting on a chair positioned on a stone pedestal on the southwestern side of the historic gate Porta Macedonian, which is an impressive architectural work in white stone. On the northeastern side is the statue of Hristo Tatarchev, also sitting on a chair. In the passageway of the gate there are also two memorandum emblems with quotations in memory of Mother Teresa.
