MALAYSIA: Streetart Johor Bahru – Graffiti and Urban Art from the “New Jewel”

Johor Bahru translates into English as “The New Jewel.” This is the port city in the truest sense of the word, both culturally, spiritually and artistically. The metropolis is one of the country’s most important economic centers, is home to about 1.7 million people and is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, directly opposite the island of Singapore. Colloquially, the city is referred to as “JB” in the region. Due to its proximity to Singapore, the city has become a transportation hub with a high volume of trade. Sights are the Sultan’s Palace “Istana Besar” from 1866, the park “Istana Garden Johor” as well as the Abu Bakar Mosque, the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Sri Mariamman Temple. And not to forget the fantastic urban art! Here we have a collection with magnificent creations photographed by graffiti hunter and streetart lover MAZZANTI. Check out her instagram channel, where she regualry presents great pictures from Sweden and from other countries all over the world.
