„Le plus gros Galet du Monde“ – „The World’s largest Pebble“
The amphitheater „Le Galet“ at Hôpital Pasteur 2 is a multifunctional space and imposing stone artwork looking like a huge egg filled with boulders. Regularly conferences, courses, symposia and scientific congresses take place and the pebble-shaped construction seats 213 visitors on a surface area of 290 m². It’s located in front of the main entrance and close to the Faculty of Medicine, the IFSI and the IUFC. The large structure was designed by the architects BERNARD REICHEN and MARC WARNERY from CARTA REICHEN ET ROBERT ASSOCIÉS and the sculptural artwork was completed in September 2012. Another creative addition with interesting effects can be seen at night when Le Galet is lit from within like a bright lighthouse.
