CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce – 4331 Boulevard Décarie – Villa Maria Metro Station – ANDRÉ LÉONARD

Cercles  –  Circles

ANDRÉ LÉONARD, an architect by training, is the designer of three Montreal Metro stations, including Villa-Maria. In it, he even took the liberty of installing a creation of polymer concrete and stainless steel representing circles which evokes a mechanism leading us towards the exit and the light of day. The color circles respond to the furnishings and the floor tiles making the decoration a very successful integrated whole. The artwork was made in 1981.  –  Patrice Loranger
