The Shed
The former Lachine Canal, the first commercial waterway to circumvent the Lachine Rapids, is now a national historic site. Completely straight, the site offers a multipurpose track along the banks of the canal for more than 14km. The walk allows you to contemplate the industrial remains of southwest Montreal and to discover the importance of this waterway in the trade of eastern North America in the 19th and early 20th centuries. One of my favorite walks or bike rides in Montreal. These great artworks by NICOLE BOYCE and ANKH are located at Hangar 1825, 2020 William Street in Saint-Henri neighborhood, on the edge of the Lachine Canal. – Patrice Loranger
