CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Petite Patrie – 437 Rue Saint-Zothique – JÉRÔME POIRIER

Beau Dommage

This great artwork pays tribute to a legendary musical group in Quebec: Beau Dommage. The mural is an exact copy of the cover of the band’s first album released in 1974. The artist JÉRÔME POIRIER created the mural from this original photo by Pierre Guimond. All Quebecers know the main successes of Beau Dommage. It is not uncommon, in the summer, to sing one gathered at the edge of a campfire. Several members of the group are still active. Some like Michel Rivard have had successful solo careers. The place chosen for the mural is not innocent. Indeed, one of the songs of the group is about an apartment located not far at Rue Saint-Vallier. The members of Beau Dommage were Pierre Bertrand, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Réal Desrosiers, Michel Hinton, Pierre Huet, Robert Léger and Michel Rivard. – Patrice Loranger
