Éclipse solaire
The work of art is installed on the small Gilford Street and is a diptych by the photographer GUILLAUME SIMONEAU. Gilford Street became a pedestrian street where it was good to live and relax a few years ago. This street, winding in places, is an old dirt road. Evidence of occupation dating back to 1710 exists. A tannery was installed there, then, later, a quarry. The workers built themselves small houses which gave birth to a village which was then integrated into the city of Montreal which extended. It is, in a way, the birthplace of the current Plateau Mont-Royal borough. – Patrice Loranger
The mural of the blue and red woman in the back was made by INSANE 51 from Greece during the Muralfestival in 2019.
