CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Hochelaga Maisonneuve – 2700 Boulevard Pie IX – Pie IX Metro Station – JORDI BONET

Citius, Altius, Fortius  –  Artwork from 1976

This artwork here is one of my favorites in the Montreal Metro network. i remember a lot of souvenirs when I was teenager and went to Expos baseball games. The artist, combining concrete and aluminum, wanted to represent the motto of all athletes. Faster, Higher, Stronger. At the center of the work, the character represents man in his quest for surpassing himself, both physical and metaphysical.  –  Patrice Loranger
