Mother and Son
The Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough is located north of the island of Montreal along the Rivière des Prairies. The Ahuntsic district owes its development to the installation of the Sulpicians in 1696 in a place called Sault au Récollets. This name refers to small rapids in the Rivière des Prairies near the place where the mural is located. A little further, to the east, there are still some very old houses which still recall the village which had developed next to the installation of the Sulpician fathers and which gave birth to Ahuntsic. – Patrice Loranger
