Here is a very beautiful mural by MATEO. Just in front of it there is a stencil by the same artist on the wall of a daycare center. I really like MATEO’s backgrounds. The repeating patterns remind me of tapestry. This is characteristic of MATEO’s art. I see in this mural, a critique of our societies of performance and consumption. The word „Mas“ on the girl’s face is telling about this. On the other hand, strangely, she seems to be sitting in a relaxed position. Is this a way of telling us that, despite our efforts, these social defects always end up invading us? – Patrice Loranger
