Hugo Houle victory at Tour de France
Hugo Houle is a retired professional cyclist from Quebec. In 2022, against all odds, he achieved the feat of winning the sixteenth stage of the 2022 Tour de France, finishing in Foix. After a 40-km solo breakaway, he gave Quebec its first victory in the world’s most prestigious cycling race. As he crossed the finish line, Hugo raised his index finger to the sky. He explained that this was his way of dedicating his victory to his brother, who had died a few years earlier in a road accident while training on his bike. Thanks to the talented guys ANKH, DODO OSE, FUSER and ZEK of PROJECT TYXNA. We now have a prominent mural on the Camilien-Houde Lookout on Mount Royal to celebrate this great athlete. – Patrice Loranger
