Along the Vardar River in the Centar district, there is a path running along the river on both the north and south sides. This walkway is lined with a wall that separates it from the buildings located further up. It is essentially a retaining wall that can also provide protection in the event of flooding. And this extremely long wall, stretching both westward and eastward, offers a wonderful canvas for urban art and graffiti. Spraying on these walls is not officially permitted, but it is more or less tolerated. On the one hand it’s a beautiful stretch along the river with nature and colorfuly graffiti views, surely a fun time to spray. But at the same time the works are also exposed to intense sunlight, wind, and water, which is why the paint fades quickly and the works disappear after shorter time compared to other locations. The walls are well-covered, but not necessarily very popular as spray sites for the reasons mentioned. Nevertheless, there are of course countless works here by local sprayers and writers from all around the world. It is a long Hall of Fame, running along both sides of the Vardar. We have countless photos of it and tried to organize everything a bit, so we’ve divided the wall into individual sections based on where they lie between the bridges.
