Tribute to the Victory over Fascism
This street is named in honor and memory of 9th May in 1945, the day of vitory over fascism worldwide. Eternal glory to the heroic fighters of the anit-hitler coalition who defeated Nazism and liberated the people of Europe! The memorial was erected by the Municipality of Centar and the Embassy of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. In a way, it is also a tribute to Star Wars; the plate with the sculptural relief bust definitely has a resemblance to Han Solo when he was frozen in carbonite on the cloud city Bespin.
