„Pixel Marianne“ – Mural Series (1)
As part of the Côte d’Azur Habitat Centennial in 2024, a series of six monumental murals honoring the iconic revolution figure of Marianne was organized by the WHOLE STREET association. Here we have the mural by JENNIFER MILLER aka PXL, check out as well the other murals via the Mariannes main page.
„I chose to honor women. The theme was ‚Les nouvelles Mariannes‘, so the ‚The new Mariannes‘. In the past, women were confined to the role of housewife and mother. Today, we’re breaking out of that stereotype and becoming more active and participating women in our society. Today’s new woman knows how to reconcile work, family and life as a woman. All these pixels of color represent the people who live here. I’ve had an incredible welcome: jam on toast, hot chocolate, fruit, coffee. There are all these people from different backgrounds.“ – JENNIFER MILLER
