Backyard Urban Gardening – Community Project
Behind the buildings at Rue Trachel 44 between Cr Bensa is a backyard that has been transformed into an urban garden in a great community project by the social organization GRAINES DE FERMIERS. The „Jardin Bensa“, or the „Bensa Garden“ in English. Various flowers grow in the planting areas and bring more color to the hidden court, but fresh vegetables, delicious fruits and various spices are grown as well.
Besides the plants, there are also several painted artworks or installations between and around the grounds, making this an even more creative place. This is just one of the organization’s great projects, the have a few others, but there could be many more. The results speak for themselves: people from the neighborhood come together, work together with nature, enjoy each other’s company and, in the end, harvest their own fruit and vegetables and can cook with them own dishes. Take a look at the association’s website, where you can support or help to create more such places.
