FRANCE: Streetart Nice – L’Ariane – Boulevard de l’Ariane 67 – Résidence Saint Joseph – Mural Series – Reborn Archway

Reborn Archway

Here are the photos of the third mural, the Reborn Archway. Check out as well the photos of the first one, the Blank Mural and of the second one, the Flood Mural. Below is also an overview with the whole series. These three murals must have been created a long time ago, as the paint has faded considerably. But you can still see the large archways. These were created on the south sides of the residential complexes.

It is an interpretation and perhaps we are wrong here, but it seems like a mythological representation of the cycle of life. From nothing to something, from destruction to renewal. Possibly a depiction of the Great Flood mentioned in history, which swept everything away, but after which new life emerges again. Starting from the left, you first see an immensely large archway, but it is empty and represents a void.

The second building also shows a similar archway, but it is halfway filled with a tidal wave coming like a flood. The colors faded, but you can still see some objects, bodies and animal heads looking out of the wave especially in the upper part. The third building again shows a relatively open archway, but above it flies a bird with colorful wings. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Overall, this mural series makes a very mythological impression, combining simplicity with ancient imagery. Great works and they should be renewed in color!

Besides, there really are still a lot of those big, boring, grey walls in the suburbs that could get upgraded and just made more beautiful with a little color in the form of a mural. Unfortunately, we have not found any further information about the artists of these works. If you know more, please write to us at info@vagbundler.com and we will add the information.
