Since the late 1990s, artist CAROLINA FALKHOLT has developed her graffiti into more of a social, musical and performative practice. Her art is infused with contemporary social issues and local history, and she often works monumentally, site-specifically and improvisationally. Her stance and commitment to issues such as feminism and artistic freedom challenge patriarchal structures and provoke debate. The motifs also often have semiotic elements with the female body in focus. In addition to graffiti and paintings, she also creates sculptures, texts, music and videos.
