This work of art comes from the use of a spectrophotometer to capture the light spectrum of the Brussels sun. The artist then used colored glass and light-emitting diodes to reproduce the intensity of colors captured from natural light. The artist chose the sunrise of June 21st in 2015 over Brussels because at the same time, it was midnight in Montreal. This choice is not insignificant because the artist wanted to symbolize the friendship between the two cities, the distance and the transport (of light) and the relationship between sensitivity and knowledge. – Patrice Loranger
