CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Quartier Latin – 1755 Avenue Savoie – GENE PENDON

Tribute to writer Dany Laferrière

Dany Laferrière is an internationally renowned Quebec writer of Haitian origin. He arrived in Quebec in 1976 fleeing the Haitian political unrest putting his life in danger. In 1985, after having lived and suffered the obstacle course of being a newcomer to Canada, he published his first novel: Comment faire l’amour avec un nègre sans se fatiguer. Huge success that will propel him to the forefront of prominent personalities in Quebec. Prix Medicis in 2009, he entered the French Academy in 2013. He now shares his life between Paris and Montreal. A great humanist. An exceptional human being.  –  Patrice Loranger
