Looking towards the river
CABEL about the artwork on his website: “Once again I was lucky enough to hear from a person who wanted to have a door repainted. This time it was the door to a garbage room on Styrmansgatan in Gothenburg. The motif that was desired should have some kind of connection to the major so my first idea was to paint “Sjömanshustrun” as it is a straight landmark for the major. Then I thought it would be nice with a background consisting of the view you get from the majorna when you look out over the river to the other side.
The proposal was approved and shortly thereafter the work could start. During the day, I was lucky enough to discover that the gate was right next to a studio belonging to Husritare in Gothenburg. For those of you who do not know her, I can recommend checking out her instagram and looking at her really awesome creations.
By the way, the painting went smoothly and it is really fun to paint in an urban environment as people come by every now and then and talk and make happy comments when they see what you do. I would therefore like to take the opportunity to thank Bostadsrättsföreningen Styrmannen for the trust and hope to hear from you in the future! – CABEL
