Tribute to John Ericsson

The bronze statue was created as a tribute to the famous inventor JOHN ERICSSON who lived from July 31st 1803 till March 8th 1889. He was involved in the development of new steam locomotives and ship models, especially in England and the USA. The artwork was created by the sculptor INGEL FALLSTEDT who lived from 20th October 1848 till 13th May 1899. This honoring statue was his first big major project, but before the unveiling of the artwork he committed suicide.
