De fem världsdelarna – The Five Continents

This fountain sculpture artwork was made by the artist TORE STRINDBERG who lived from 19th February 1882 till 6th February 1968. The title is in Swedish “De fem världsdelarna” which would mean in English “The Five Continents”. The place is also named “Järntorgs Fountain” or in English “The Well of the Iron Square”.


“… bed för dem som staden kväver att de länge ma bli unga och om troll och hägland drämma uppa tullens varta krog” 

English Translation:

“… pray for those who are suffocated by the city that they may stay young for a long time and dream of trolls and hagland in every tavern of the customs”
